How to Become a Guppy
Qualifications
Anyone who is of reasonable physical condition can become a Guppy. With the Killer Guppies you can participate at whatever level you wish to aspire; from recreational to competitive, or somewhere in-between.
(As with any physical fitness program it is a good idea to be checked by a physician before doing strenuous exercises.)Try it out
We recommend that you come to a few practices to see what it’s like. You can paddle with us three times for free. For this trial period we will provide you with a paddle, Personal Floatation Device (PFD), and instruction.
The Dragon Boat Season
The Killer Guppies is an all-year team. Regular season practices are held Saturdays and Sundays from February through September. We have additional practices Wednesday evenings during Daylight Savings Time. Off season is late September through February when we typically practice once a week. Killer Guppies Membership Application Make checks payable to Killer Guppies and hand your checks to Steve Kashynski or Helen Li at practice Special offer: You will receive a complimentary year’s membership fee when you:
- Recruit three or more new people to join KG (the newly recruited members must list your name as a reference on their application.) or
- Organize a fund raiser that raises more than $500 for the team.
Dragon Boating has a lot to offer. If you enjoy water sports, a good work-out in a friendly team environment, social activities, and opportunities to travel out-of-town for international competitions, then Killer Guppies is the team for you!
